As part of the Jong Climate Exhibition—made possible through participation in the Jonge Cultuur program—three exhibitors came together to share their knowledge on climate change, communication, and technology. To do this, they organized a series of three workshops open to all young people.
In The Climate Meme Workshop, Sophia showed us how humor and communication can be powerful tools in the ongoing fight for climate awareness. While her workshop focused on human-to-human interaction, Eros, an empathetic designer, took a different approach. Through a nature listening walk featuring his Plant Translator—also part of the Young Climate Expo—he highlighted the importance of human-to-nature communication. With a group of enthusiastic volunteers, he led an immersive experience where participants could “listen” to the voices of the plants surrounding us in daily life.
From these nature-inspired conversations, we shifted our focus to biodiversity conservation. In a workshop led by Marie, we explored endangered tree species through Minecraft! This unique blend of creativity, gaming, and environmental awareness allowed even the youngest participants to design their own Endangered Wood Pack, making conservation both interactive and fun.
The Young Climate Expo runs until the end of February—so if you haven’t checked out what these three young creatives have built to represent climate action, now’s your last chance!
A huge thank you to Sophia Schullan, Eros Risiglione, and Marie Judith le Gars for organizing and leading these amazing workshops. And a special shoutout to Cultuur_Eindhoven for creating the Jonge Cultuur program, giving young people in Eindhoven the chance to explore their city and develop open, inclusive initiatives.
